Subject: BOPO Giving Bean Fundraiser Ends Dec. 2

Dear Heights BOPO supporters,

Here’s a great way for us to safely and easily raise funds for Heights BOPO now as the holidays approach. Almost everyone drinks and/or appreciates great coffee and tea AND we need funds to help the Heights Instrumental Music Department.

Giving Bean is a Specialty Coffee Roaster and Tea Blender focused on helping groups like ours. Giving Bean's products will not disappoint! Many of us can attest to this after the last few years of participation.

Our digital order form allows us to accept Credit Cards and PayPal for LOCAL supporters. Any connected device can be used.  Supporters can also order themselves using the link (provided by you).

Local Only

We will deliver all these orders ourselves so please only use or send to LOCALS.

When to start:  As soon as you have a Seller ID#, you may start. Our official start date is NOW.

Sale ends: 12/2/2022 - closing process begins (please start selling ASAP)

Delivery date: 7-14 business days after we close open orders and we'll arrange for you to pickup or for Joan Spoerl to drop it off with you.

Please try to sell at least 10 items to help make this a success.  It is an easy sale and more is better of course.

GET YOUR SELLER ID# HERE.  If you don't have one yet.  You and buyers will need your ID# to place an order using the digital order form.

Please send an appeal asking folks to buy their next coffee and tea from Giving Bean.  Here is the order form.  Don't forget to mention your seller#. You can also take orders by phone or in person (if appropriate)

Send out-of-town family and friends some treats!

These orders are processed and mailed very soon after you order and BOPO benefits (though not as much as with local sale)! There’s a wider selection of coffee, teas and treats here but you’ll need to pay for shipping. This is an ongoing sale and the link is also on the BOPO website.

Subject: BOPO Election Day Bake Sale

BOPO is having a Bake Sale tomorrow on Election Day, Nov. 8, and we need your help!

Please use the sign up genius linked below to sign up to volunteer for a shift, commit to bringing a baked good, or both!  This is also a good chance for students to do some volunteering, so please ask your IMD kids to sign up (we will always have an adult there helping, as well).

Election Day Bake Sale 2022

DON'T HOLD BACK ON THE BAKED GOODS!  In past years the election day bake sale has been a big success, thanks to all the volunteers!

If you are bringing a baked good - please tell us what you're bringing in the comments section. This year we are in the late morning/afternoon slot, 11:30 AM to 7:30pm. So if you have a savory baked good recipe, bring it on, we may get some interest from the after work crowd.

Of course, many hands make quick work. So please sign up for a shift on Election Day.

Thanks in advance for all you do to help keep the music playing at Heights IMD!

Any questions? Reach out to Julie King at (216) 789-9230

Subject: Playoff Volunteers Needed Nov. 4

Heights Tigers have advanced again!!

So, BOPO will be able to sell raffle tickets one more time and earn more money to support Heights High Instrumentalists!  We will also provide snacks again for our amazing band players.

We know it is a busy time for everyone right now, especially with the fall musical, but if you plan to attend the game, please consider being a BOPO volunteer.  For this playoff game, we are asking volunteers to both sell raffle tickets and to assist with snacks as needed – the band will be a little smaller because of the school musical.

Volunteers are asked to help out from 6:30 to 8 pm and will receive free admission to the game.

Volunteer here

Thank you,

Eve McPherson and Mike Lyford

BOPO Co-Presidents

Subject: Raffle Ticket Sellers Needed Friday Night

 Dear BOPO Families,

If you can volunteer for an hour and a half this Friday night at the playoff game (6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.), we are still in need of raffle ticket sellers. Mike Lyford will run the raffle this week and could use some assistance selling tickets in the stands.  Jeff Donnelly, the raffle coordinator, and I will be unable to attend the game.  So, if you can spare the time, it would be very helpful since we don’t have our usual backup sellers available (me and Mike).

You can sign up to assist using this link.

BOPO Volunteers: 10/28 Playoff Game

All volunteers receive free admission to the game.

Thank you!

Eve McPherson

BOPO Co-president

Subject: Volunteers Needed for Concert Uniform Fittings

Good morning IMD Families,

Volunteer opportunity!

We need to get all of the IMD members kitted up for the upcoming Fall Concert. In the weeks leading up to the concert, we need helpers to measure students, find pants that match, and have students try them on for length. This can be a simple 1-hour commitment, or if you have time to do more that's great. We also hope for volunteers to hem the pants, that can be done on your own schedule.

Volunteer Sign-Up Form

Please contact Kate MacLeod at (216) 835-8011 if you have any questions or want to go over steps before you come in. It is best to text before calling as she does not usually answer unknown numbers.

Thanks for all your help!

Subject: Heights Play the Playoffs! Volunteers Needed!

Heights High Tiger Marching Band is playing during the playoffs!

That means we have another opportunity to fundraise for the Heights IMD.  We’ve had good success with our raffle ticket sales this year, raising approximately $1500 so far With volunteers selling tickets in the stands, we can raise even more in support of all Heights musicians.  We also need some assistance with distributing band snacks to our talented players.

If you can help, please sign up here to volunteer: BOPO Volunteers: 10/28 Playoff Game

Remember, volunteers receive free admission to the game!

Eve McPherson and Mike Lyford, BOPO Co-presidents

Subject: Volunteers Still Needed for Raffle Ticket Sales this Friday

We are still in need of a few more volunteers to help sell 50/50 raffle tickets this Friday.  If you can help, please sign up here.

We are also in need of volunteers for October 21.  We need assistance with both marching band snacks and raffle ticket sales.  October 21 is the last home game of the season AND it is Senior Night!  If you DO NOT have a graduating senior, consider signing up to volunteer, so families of graduating seniors can relax and enjoy their graduating student’s final marching band performance.

Subject: Volunteers Still Needed for Raffle Ticket Sales this Friday

Dear BOPO Families,

We are still in need of volunteers to assist with raffle ticket sales and with marching band snacks for this Friday’s game.  If you can help, please sign up here

So far this year we’ve raised over $1000 dollars from our raffle ticket sales!  The more people we have in the stands, the more tickets we sell.  These funds will be used to support ALL IMD music students, so please consider helping out even if you don’t have a band student this year.

Remember, volunteers get FREE admission!

Note also the earlier start time this week.  Game starts at 6, so we are asking volunteers to be there at 5:30.

Eve McPherson and Mike Lyford, BOPO Co-presidents

Subject: Volunteers Needed for Marching Band Senior Night

Dear BOPO Families,

We are still in need of volunteers to assist with Senior Night on October 21.

At this event, graduating marching band seniors and their family members are honored; it’s a wonderful tradition.  If you don’t have a graduating senior and can take the time to assist, we could really use the help.

Senior Night volunteers assist with distributing flowers and helping family members line up. We also could still use some help with snacks and raffle tickets.

Remember volunteers receive free admission to the game!

So, if you can assist, please sign up using this link.

Thank you,

Eve McPherson and Mike Lyford, BOPO Co-Presidents

Subject: Volunteers Needed: Middle School Band Night

Dear BOPO Families,

The Heights High Marching Band is excited to once again welcome middle school band students to take part in middle school band night!  To support our middle school students, we are seeking parent chaperones for practice on Thursday Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. and for the game on Friday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. (note the earlier start time).  Please use this link to sign up.

Thank you for supporting future Heights High marching band students!

Eve McPherson and Mike Lyford, BOPO Co-presidents

Subject: Urgent Need for BOPO Volunteers This Friday

Tomorrow night is the homecoming game, and we are still in urgent need of volunteers to assist with raffle ticket sales.

Proceeds from raffle ticket sales are an important source of support for all IMD student activities.  They subsidize orchestra and band uniforms, offset the costs of tours, provide rehearsal dinners and much more.  The more people we have in the stands selling tickets, the better we can do for our students.

We need just a few more people to help.  The homecoming game should have good attendance and alumni.  It will be a good night for us to raise funds, so please consider volunteering.

All volunteers receive free admission to the game.  Sales finish at half-time, so the time commitment is about an hour and a half.

Please sign up here.

Eve McPherson and Mike Lyford, BOPO Co-presidents
