Officers
Co-presidents, Mike Lyford and Eve McPherson: This job is traditionally shared by two people. Take charge of BOPO with your leadership and organizational skills!
Treasurer, Alicia Evans: Keeps track of income and expenses, pays bills, and prepares annual tax filing. Basic familiarity with spreadsheets is the only requirement.
Recording Secretary, Sharilee Walker: Responsible for collecting minutes at each BOPO meeting.
Coordinators
100th Anniversary Celebration, Co-presidents: 2021-22 marked the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Heights High Symphony.
Tour Coordinator, Toni Thayer: This job takes a few months each year and involves planning and coordination of annual tours. (Which we hope to resume in the 2022-23 school year.)
50/50 Raffle, Jeff Donnelly: Organize 50/50 raffle at all home football games and before concerts - FALL typically 4 or 5 home games
Fundraising Committee: Sharilee Walker, Joan Spoerl, Michelle Bandy-Zalatoris
Jazz Band Polo Shirts, Marcia Dawson: Order and distribute polo shirts for Jazz Ensemble to wear at performances - LATE WINTER
Election Day Bake Sale, Julie Myers King: Organize the bake sale on election day.
Marching Band Hospitality, Samantha Macke: Provide BOPO funded snacks for home and visiting marching bands at each home football game (typically 4-5 home games) and organize pizza dinners when needed before games (typically 2-3 times after school). FALL
Marching Band Senior Night, Samantha Macke: Organize line-up and BOPO funded flowers for each senior marching band family - ONE EVENING FALL
Marching Band Uniforms, Lindy Burt & Jodi Sourini: One person needed to oversee and organize annual distribution of Marching Band Uniforms. Additional volunteers needed to help with fittings of students in August, calculation and collection of bond fees, and to be available during football season for incidental needs. LATE SUMMER AND FALL
Concert Reception, Hospitality, Ticket Sales; Greg and Julie Mangino: Oversee ticket sales and concert receptions. - NOV/FEB/APRIL
Concert Attire Fittings, Kate McLeod: Organize fitting and distribution of concert wear - no sewing skills needed! - FALL
Patron Donations, Laura Shuster: Solicit annual patron donations and send letters of acknowledgement.
Newsletter, Sheryl Banks: Printed newsletter distributed at concerts.
Website and Social Media Manager, Joe Banks: Coordinate messaging content with all volunteers and with email campaign manager throughout the school year.
